Keeping Up with The Ambassadors, Introductory Interview with Yael Filus | August 16, 2023
Jaime conducted an introductory interview with Yael Filus, CRC's new intern and Director's Assistant. The conversation was delightful as they delved into Yael's political and environmental engagement since her graduation from EMIS, along with her exciting plans for the upcoming year at CRC.
AMBASSADOR YEAL FILUS | Israel, EMIS Alumni
Yael, a 21-year-old Allumni from Israel, took on a leadership role during her senior year (DP2) at EMIS by leading the Peace Simulation CAS. This intense, week-long event, a hallmark of the EMIS experience, is conducted in partnership with the Charney Resolution Center, sparking her interest in joining the center. Over the past year, she has worked closely with the center's director, Sari Marom-Shaanan. Despite initially finding the responsibility intimidating, Yael eagerly embraced the opportunity to develop her social awareness, objectivity, and creativity through this transformative experience. Currently, she is a part of the Charney Center’s ambassador’s program and continues to work closely with the Center.
"Speaking up is admirable, yet the blindness towards the “other side” from both political leanings has demolished the meaning of justice, legitimacy and validity. All I ask for is understanding, to use your power for peace instead of advocating for a cause that blinds the bigger picture.” [From A Letter to Greta] — Yael Filus
