The opening ceremony of VYMUN 2019 took place on July 26th, 2019. Lieutenant Colonel Le Ngoc Son from the Vietnamese military appeared as a guest. Participants included many young people from across the city of Hanoi and several other provinces and cities who shared their personal experiences about how they learned to better contribute to society through diplomacy. The Leon Charney Resolution Center sponsored the event and Director-General of the VYMUN and CRC Ambassador Khanh Ton gave a speech.

New York Experience as an Ambassador at CRC Headquarters - Ophyr Hanan
“Going back to Israel after these few months in the CRC headquarters is very exciting for me. I wish to connect to current students at EMIS and show them that their missions and perseverance do not stop when they graduate. Please join me and become a CRC ambassador so that together we can do a lot more than just talking about peace, we can actually work towards achieving it and make the world a better place.”

On October 18, 2018 the Charney Resolution Center and the Minds of Peace NGO (Non-Governmental Organizations) led the two parts of an Israeli-Palestinian Public Negotiating Congress made up of teenagers. A delegation of 25 Palestinian high-school students met a delegation of 25 Israeli high-school students in Tel-Aviv to discuss, debate, and negotiate solutions to their current situation.

The Leon Charney Diplomacy Program at Florida Atlantic University competed in the National Model United Nations competition in Washington, D.C. The Program received four individual and six delegation awards, finishing 2nd out of 67 competing universities. Fifty-nine FAU undergraduates joined more than 1,000 college students in the annual competition where schools represent countries and students step into the shoes of diplomats to solve global problems.
