The final stage of this big journey is here, my first movie is almost done.
For the past 6 months I have been working with EMIS students on making a documentary about this unique community and it will finally premiere on the 10th of March!
My goals as a director were to broadcast the fascinating personal stories of the students at EMIS and to show how the Israeli-Palestinian conflict affected their lives.
The artistic choices of using a black background and several close-up shots of the students are meant to create a very raw but still intimate environment.
I truly believe in the message of this documentary, which is that even if we all have our unique stories and differences, we all belong to the same human family. The emotions that the students display in their interviews, ranging from fear, to hope and love, are universally intrinsic to our human lives.
I am beyond grateful to the 8 students who agreed to be interviewed. They showed great courage in allowing themselves to be vulnerable, which is the best way to bridge the gap between cultures and differences.
I’m excited to hear what you think of the full movie, but for now you can watch a short teaser that we recently published.
