On October 18, 2018 the Charney Resolution Center and the Minds of Peace NGO (Non-Governmental Organizations) led the two parts of an Israeli-Palestinian Public Negotiating Congress made up of teenagers. A delegation of 25 Palestinian high-school students met a delegation of 25 Israeli high-school students in Tel-Aviv to discuss, debate, and negotiate solutions to their current situation.

JERUSALEM, March 5 (Xinhua) -- On a sunny afternoon in central Israel, tens of Israeli, Palestinian students filled a small library and engaged in a passionate debate in a simulation of peace talks between Israel and Palestine.
Arabic, English, and Hebrew were heard across the room as the teens were on a deadline. They had 24 hours of simulation peace talks, and at the end of them, their task was to forge an agreement between Israelis and Palestinians.

Today a personal dream for the Charney Resolution Center came true: we opened a mediation course with 26 EMIS students.
Mediation is a language in and of itself and is a crucial tool for reaching win-wins in conflict resolution. Our vision is to eventually open a meditation center in the school, where the course's graduates will help their peers to resolve conflicts and disputes in an effective and respectful way.

On October 31st, Professor Danny Hamiel, Director of the Educational Intervention Unit of the Cohen Harris Resilience Center and the Head of the Cognitive-Behavioral Unit at the Tel Aviv Community Mental Health Center, began the anti-stress workshop delivering a lecture to teachers at the Eastern Mediterranean International School (EMIS). We invited Professor Hamiel and his staff to give a workshop to both teachers and students at EMIS to help provide the entire community with tools to better cope with stress. After the lecture, students were divided up into small groups where they shared stressors in their life and learned new tools and skills to help manage the various stresses they face.

On Friday March 17th, students from the Leon Charney Resolution Center at the EMIS International School joined world-renowned peace facilitator Dr. Sapir Handelman at Rabin Square in Tel Aviv. Working around forty tables set up in the square, Dr. Handelman helped guide passionate negotiators to come up with solutions to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Several students from the Leon Charney Resolution Center at the EMIS International School also participated in the 1,000 strong negotiations – just a few weeks after Dr. Handelman led the students in their first ever peace talk simulation at the Charney Resolution Center on March 1st and 2nd. Dozens of Israelis held a preliminary meeting at the Charney Center in preparation for a Congress of the People to take place on July 22, 2016. This will be the largest Congress to date, taking place in the center of Tel Aviv, bringing together 250 Israelis and 250 Palestinians. The participants will attempt to come to a peace agreement. In past Congresses of the People, the participants nearly constantly did reach an agreement, showing that the people are ready. The hope is that if the political establishment can not come to terms, the people might show them the way.
