“Have You Seen the Horizon Lately?” is an initiative that offers a new perspective on solving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through inspiring lectures and events. This year, three separate events were held in Tel Aviv, Eshkol, and in Haifa.
Their event in Eshkol (near the Gaza border) reached attendance of nearly one thousand people—all interested in hearing solutions to the conflict. With many choosing to stay late and explore more ideas they’ve heard, it’s apparent that there is something different in discussing the idea of peace with an audience full of people who have lived in fear of missiles for years.
In Tel Aviv, two thousand people filled the crowd, with many opinion makers from politics, media and civil society. There was wide media coverage, and the feedback was truly moving. The featured speakers included behavioral economist Professor Dan Ariely, journalist Itai Anghel, journalist Francesca Borri, psychiatrist Professor Yoram Yovel, pollster Dr. Khalil Shikaki, Professor Nurit Shnabel, and others.
