I’m Sari Marom-Shaanan, the new Director of the Charney Resolution Center. I decided to accept my friend Tzili Charney’s offer to join the Center—with hopes of making a difference in the lives of young people on both sides of the political conflict.
I’m replacing Michal Atzmon, who has been the director for the past three years and greatly contributed to shaping the Center into what it is today.
I was born and raised in Jerusalem where my political views took form, and my dream was to become the principal of a school for gifted kids from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. So, after completing my military service, I earned my B.A. and M.A. in Educational Consulting and Sociology from the University of Tel-Aviv and started my professional career as an educational consultant.
But life is full of surprises, and after four years, I decided to make a change. I returned to work in the Israel Defense Forces as an organizational consultant where I specialized in analyzing and dealing with population behavior in crises and emergencies. And for the past 25 years, I have continued to work as an organizational consultant.
As the new Director, I am looking forward to connecting with the students at EMIS and contributing to the Charney Resolution Center’s goals.
Sincerely,
Sari Marom-Shaanan
